about

Every time has a sound, and so does every place, every space. A sound that’s vast and wide enough for you to float through the day. A lush soundtrack to your life.

Then this feeling.
It brings back memories. Like back in the day when you listened to jungle mixes all day and then the same Tribe Called Quest album on repeat all night. 1999.
It brings back voids, echoes, emptinesses. Like the squeaky wooden studio floor, the skyline of a futuristic city, a parking garage at night, old King Tubby bleeps, the sound when you’re asleep.

Layers get cut out. Space between the notes, beats, breaks stays in. The sound’s
transformed into something almost visible. For your imagination. Or for you to dance.
This is music for motion. Dancing in a club or riding the train through the city. Watching clouds race through the sky or driving at night with the stereo on blast.

All day long people are coming around the studio. We gotta do this, we gotta do that. Fulfilling formulas and playing by the rules never quite worked out. But when night comes and everyone else is asleep, the city comes to rest and there’s not so much noise outside.
Pretty soon it’s midnight. Ghost hour.

This album was created in the centre of Düsseldorf in the years 2009-2010
